About Stephen
I am a Sheffield based artist working primarily with landscape and the human form
My main methods of practice are painting, drawing, print-making and photographic means.
The work has a strong sense of marks and lines often incorporating writing. It maintains a direct use of colour and references the materials being used. I also undertake projects that consider the historic significance of places and events and seek to bring this more conceptual approach into the range of work I undertake.
Ultimately I seek to make pieces that are visually strong, aesthetic in quality and that continue to affect the viewer.
