Marks And Lines
Making marks on a surface is a mixture of the instinctive, the deliberate and the accidental. Sharp and soft lines are integral to the work and written words or phrases legitimate marks, whether legible or not.
Signs and lines in Paleolithic caves, early writing on clay tablets, vapour trails in the sky and scratch marks on painted surfaces provide a source for invention.
